OPEN MIC NIGHTS

TiE New York’s monthly Open Mic Nights is the chapter’s flagship event focused on networking and pitching for New York’s entrepreneur ecosystem.  Held on the second Tuesday of every month, Open Mic Night (OMN) allows entrepreneurs to meet and connect with fellow founders and meet investors, venture capitalists, and business leaders to introduce and grow their network and ventures.

Who can participate in Open Mic Night?

Open Mic Night includes angel investors, venture capitalists, startup-focused service based providers, mentors, and a large community of other successful entrepreneurs, developing a real opportunity for you and your business to receive the right type of exposure to the right people, right now.

Pitching at Open Mic Night

To pitch your startup, you don’t have to be a TiE New York member. You need the passion to give your elevator pitch for 90 seconds in front of a group of angel investors, venture capitalists, startup-focused service based providers, mentors, and a large community of other successful entrepreneurs.

Every participant, entrepreneur and/or investor who attends will have 90 seconds at the microphone to introduce themselves, pitch their business or raise pertinent discussion points.  Please note that should we need to limit the number of speakers due to high demand, TiE New York members will be given priority to speak.

What should you prepare?

Your 90-second pitch. We provide you the floor to get the exposure you want, and practice answering questions from a friendly audience. Come prepared to harness the opportunity to refine your pitch, increase your network, and move forward with your venture.
