Job Opening – Executive Director (Part-time)

TiE New York is one of 57 chapters across the world. We have a local mission with a global vision to support early-stage founders. 

TiE New York is seeking a part-time Executive Director to help support a growing chapter that serves entrepreneurs of all stages, all industries. 

Roles, Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Point person in the Chapter (along with board and committee chairs) for members and the external outreach 
  • Leader and Manager of the Chapter team – this includes all third-party vendors
  • Build relations with sponsors, donors and raise sponsorship and grants revenue 
  • Collaborate with committee chairs and Board to manage, plan, and execute events – virtual or in-person – and programs for the CMs and Members to educate, network, mentor, and fund entrepreneurs, including working with committee chairs
  • Onsite event management and logistics – venue booking, food and catering, A/V, vendor management, check-ins, manage volunteers, etc. 
  • Manage membership management system, event management system, events and meetings calendar
  • Build relationships with partner organizations like incubators, accelerators, workspace agencies to help the entrepreneurial ecosystem

  • Chapter President and Board   

Peer Relationship

  • Other Chapter EDs, TiE Global ED

Characteristics or skills we’re interested in hearing more about (preferred qualifications):

  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship ecosystem, entrepreneur lifecycles/ and business, preferred
  • Strategic Planning experience
  • Event management experience
  • Experience implementing nonprofit data management systems

This is a part-time (60-80 hours per month) starting at $35/hour.  We are prioritizing candidates who demonstrate a long-term interest and commitment to strengthening and growing our organization. Depending on fundraising and future needs of the organization, this position could become full-time in the future.

  • Experienced in development, grant-writing, and fundraising

  • Able to perform basic computer skills and possessing knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Manage data systems such as membership management systems, event management systems, calendar management (G-Suite, Constant Contact, LinkedIn, etc.)
